Long time fan and Billy Goat Tavern owner Billy Sianis, was asked to leave the game as his pet goats odor was offending fans at Wrigley Field. Suffice it to say, Sianis was not pleased and he declared, Them Cubs, they aint gonna win no more, which held true until the historic 2016 season.

Tigers Slugger Hank Greenberg was a driving force in the series as he had been discharged from his military service early, he recorded a pair of home runs in the series along with knocking in seven runners and scoring seven runs himself. The Tigers would go on to defeat the Cubs 4 games to 3 to win the 1945 World Series.
